Bratislava has some very ardent fans, in fact two of them, fascinated by its corners, mystery and flair created this website. Did you know you were looking at Bratislava each time you saw Nicol Kidman and George Clooney in the Hollywood movie Peacemaker? It “played” Vienna and Sarajevo. Bratislava also stood for Sarajevo, depending on the stage of reconstruction after the barbaric heritage of the communists. In fact, Bratislava is a real Peacemaker as number of European peace treaties, such as the one between Napoleon and the Austrian Emperor following the famous Austerlitz battle in 1805 were signed here.

Bratislava is the city of fountains, there are more than fifty of them here. In case you are an art lover or simply romantic, you should definitely see the Ganymedes fountain at Hviezdoslavovo námestie in created to pay tribute to the Danube, which used to flow exactly where today you will find the Slovak National Theatre.

In 2001 you could meet Jon Voight, David Schwimmer and Donald Sutherland walking around the city. They were creating another moving story about the resistance of the residents of the Warsaw ghetto against their Nazi oppressors in 1943. The all star cast is called Uprising.

The three visual dominants of the city, the Bratislava Castle, the top of the New Brigde (Nový most) and the copy of the coronation crown of Hungarian kings on the top of St. Martin's Cathedral, where they used to be crowned for 300 years are in the same height.

Napoleon's spirit is still present in Bratislava. The city was under cannonade of his army in 1809 and seven cannon balls are still dwelling in the front of various buildings. One of them can be seen at Beblavého street and another one is next to the gate of Hospital of Merciful Brothers.

The weight of the copy of the coronation crown of Hungarian kings on the top of St. Martin's Cathedral is approximately 300 kg and its size would allow to place a dining table with four chairs inside of it.
